Salem State College | Department of Foreign Languages | Language Resource Center
Learning Center (LIB436) peer tutors (approved by the Foreign Languages Department) will be working at the LRC helping foreign language students with their class work and any difficulties they might have.
Why you want to go see a tutor
NOTE: DURING THE SPRING SEMESTER, ELEMENTARY AND INTERMEDIATE SPANISH STUDENTS SHOULD PREFERENTIALLY USE THE FOREIGN LANGUAGES DEPARTMENT'S TUTORS, AVAILABLE AT THE LAB DURING MOST HOURS OF OPERATION, NOT THE LEARNING CENTER TUTORS, WHO WILL BE USED FOR ADVANCED SPANISH CLASSES.
CLICK HERE TO SEE THE SPANISH TUTOR SCHEDULE
- If you would like to request a tutoring appointment, fill out this form
- The hours the tutors are regularly available are shown next to their names
- Request a one hour appointment during the hours that the tutor is available (half-hour appointments may be possible if agreed to by the tutor)
- The appointment is not set until you hear back from the tutor by email that he or she is available at that time and you have replied to that message from the tutor
- All tutoring must take place at the Language Lab (MH205) unless cleared with Dr. Aske by the tutor first
- All boxes in this form must be filled or the request will not be honored.
- If you need to cancel an appointment you need to notify the tutor at least 24 hours in advance
- If you miss an appointment without cancelling 24 hours prior to the appointment, you may be banned from making any further appointments
- Every request for a tutor must be done through this web page. Tutees may not contact a tutor directly and set up an appointment with him or her.
- There is a limit of one one-hour appointment per week for each tutee. More than one one-hour appointments per week may be granted under special circumstances by Dr. Aske.
- This form will be sent to Dr. Aske, who will forward the request to the appropriate tutor. If the tutor you request doesn't get in touch with you within 24 hours, please contact Dr. Aske directly.
