Elizabeth Blood - Affiliations

Past Affiliations
  • Connecticut College: A small liberal arts college in New London, Connecticut where I did my B.A. in Anthropology with a minor in French and a concentration in Italian. My professors at Conn College taught me to love learning and inspired me to pursue a graduate degree in literature.
  • Institute for American Universities: I attended the IAU program in Avignon, France during my junior year abroad and still keep in touch with my host family and the friends I made there!
  • Boston College: I did my M.A. and my Ph.D. in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Boston College, which is neither in Boston (it's in Chestnut Hill) nor a College (it's a comprehensive university). I also taught French there as a Teaching Fellow and worked for the International Programs office.
  • Ecole Normale Superieure: I was a Chateaubriand Fellow in 1994-95 and spent the year doing research at the Bibliotheque Nationale and living at the ENS in Paris. The ENS is one of the prestigious "grandes ecoles" and offered me an amazing opportunity to meet other doctoral researchers and literature professors.
  • McNair Scholars Program at Salem State College: A TRIO program funded by the federal government to encourage underrepresented minority/low-income and first-generation college students to pursue a Ph.D.; the SSC McNair program employed me as Academic and Counseling Coordinator for two years.
